OTHER INTERESTS

Aside from engineering, I do in fact have other passions. These activities allow me to take a step back from my work and appreciate nature and physical challenges. I love the focus and calm that these activities grant me, teaching me to be a more grounded person, while also allowing me to strive for success in a variety of different subjects

Rock Climbing

I am annoyingly passionate about climbing. It's a sport that allows me to travel to beautiful and often unappreciated areas and spend all day outdoors. The sense of accomplishment I get from getting to the top of a boulder is inexplicably satisfying. I only recently started training seriously for it, and I have even started writing my own training programs. I enjoy the organization and tracking my progress to reach my goals. This is what I spend most of my free time and holidays doing, along with other weirdos who also like rocks too much.

Traveling

I am always excited to explore new places and experience new cultures. My favorite destinations have so far been Chile, Japan, and Italy. I always try to go off the beaten path and find hidden gems. There's still so much more of the world to see, but I'm already accruing a wonderful collection of photos, stories, and memories.

Hiking

Hiking is something I love to share with my friends. Conversations get so interesting when you're half exhausted and sharing trail snacks. And the view at the end is always worth it. Sometimes I think I like planning out dehydrated meals and weighing all my gear in preparation for a long hike better than the hike itself. Maybe, but probably not.

Scuba

I learned to scuba dive when I was 12. Living in a place with plenty of natural coral reefs made it a common activity for my family. I've recently gotten into underwater photography, and found that it's actually very hard. I love how diving gives me a sense of calm and immerses me in another world.
